What should I look out for when I buy a green plant wall?
Always ask for a project no more than 3 years old, this way you will know what you get.
How much will a green wall cost?
€ 500/m2, not including the external water connection and water discharge.
How much maintenance is required?
Experience has shown that the system needs little to no maintenance, apart from the annual check.
Do I have to fertilise the plants?
No, the mineralisation of the added peat provides enough minerals for the plants for the next few years.
How often should I water the plants?
First, that depends on the system you have chosen.
Second, each individual location has its own water supply pattern. This requires quite a bit of attention during the first few months.
Third, there are the seasons. Dried substrate must be avoided at all cost. An often heard misunderstanding is that the modules outdoors will be fairly wet after a good shower, but that is not the case. All rain ends up next to it. A good start is to open the tap for 15 seconds every day.
If you have an automated system, there are 3 ways to go about it:
• a humidity meter controls everything
• a preset interval switch doses the water
• a computer-controlled program with live monitoring operates everything from a distance..
Will the walls suffer from rising damp?
No, the modules are waterproof and are suspended at 3 cm from the wall.
What is the delivery period?
Normally, it is 4 weeks, with the exception of the winter months, when no planting takes place.
Are the modules with the plants inside sensitive to frost?
No.
Is the system silent?
Yes.
What is the term of the warranty?
10 years.
Will the roots penetrate the walls?
No, that is impossible.
Can I go for just Lavendee plants?
Yes you can, we can even create a rose garden.
Is my wall strong enough?
These modules weigh no more than 65 kg/m2. That should not pose a problem for a normal brick wall.
What does the wall look like during winter?
There’s no change indoors. Outdoors, matters are dictated by the choice of plants.
Will the water spread throughout the module?
Thanks to an adapted mix of raw materials, the water will be evenly distributed in equal measures.
Will the vertical wall suffer from weeds?
Hardly, although the wind will blow the fluffy seeds from the willow-herb in between the plants when the wall is not yet fully covered.
How many plants make up a large green wall?
We make the modules with a density of 80 to 90 plants per m2.
This at the same time provides an ideal micro climate and the plants will create their own ecology.
Will the soil remain in place?
Fortunately yes, because the special substrate creates high levels of cohesion.
